Once known as the Cancer Patient Navigator Program, the program became a part of Faith in Action in 2004. The program seeks to provide emotional and spiritual support to newly diagnosed cancer survivors. Care recipients enrolled in this program are matched with volunteers who are themselves cancer survivors. Volunteers educate cancer survivors on the various cancer treatments available, escort cancer survivors to and from treatment, and if needed help in obtaining groceries, preparing meals, and meeting basic needs if possible. Both volunteers and staff can link them to outside services as well.
